India U19 defeated Australia U19 by 7 wickets in the final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2023 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Saturday. India won the toss and elected to field first, and Australia U19 were bowled out for 177 in 47.4 overs. India U19 then chased down the target in 38.5 overs, with opener Yash Dhull scoring an unbeaten 110.

India U19 got off to a solid start with Dhull and Harnoor Singh putting on a 70-run partnership for the first wicket. Singh was dismissed for 30, but Dhull continued to anchor the innings and was joined by Raj Bawa, who scored 35. Dhull eventually brought up his century in the 37th over, and India U19 reached the target with 67 balls to spare.

For Australia U19, Todd Murphy was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 31 runs. However, the rest of the bowlers were unable to contain the Indian batting lineup, and India U19 cruised to victory.

This is India U19's fifth ICC Under-19 World Cup title, and their first since 2018. Australia U19 have now lost two consecutive Under-19 World Cup finals, having also been defeated by India U19 in the 2020 final.
